This programme is designed at equipping learners already in the field of elderly care to pursue a higher level of learning that covers such things as Comprehensive geriatric assessment, palliative care, pressure ulcer management and basic wound care as well as medication and nutrition management.

Course Overview:

This programme is designed at equipping learners already in the field of elderly care to pursue a higher level of learning that covers such things as Comprehensive geriatric assessment, palliative care, pressure ulcer management and basic wound care as well as medication and nutrition management. Its aim is to enable them to be able to work independently and reach a wider audience in the care setting.

 

Course Aims:

  • The course is aimed at giving learners in the care setting the ability to progress through higher levels of care giving, ultimately specializing in care giving and various aspects of care giving that give them access to higher level jobs in the care sector.
  • Learners can work independently or with an inter – disciplinary team in a care setting such as a nursing home, residential care home or home care setting.
  • Engage in learning that is relevant to them and which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in the Care Sector and working with the elderly at a high level.
  • Achieve an internationally recognized vocationally-related qualification in elderly care case management

Anyone with an interest in the field of care giving and who has prior experience and certifications in the field of care such as Award in Geriatric Care Assistance (Eduqual)

Portfolio submission:

Each of our programmes are examinable, the portfolios are submitted to the UK Awarding body for external review and quality assurance. There are four examinable portfolio submissions; all must be completed in order to attain the certification. Certificates are awarded through Eduqual and distributed by Care Caribbean.
